The New York Mets are going to now set to draft 12th in the 2019 First-Year Player Draft. The team’s 77-85 record pencils them in behind the 78-84 Twins and in front of the 73-89 Blue Jays.

The Mets picked sixth last season, and selected high school outfielder Jarred Kelenic from Wyoming.

Former 12th picks by the Mets include Gavin Cecchini and Lastings Milledge. Notable 12th picks in recent memory include Jay Bruce, Yasmani Grandal, Nomar Garciaparra, and Billy Wagner.

This pick will be quite notable as it will be the first Mets draft without Sandy Alderson as the team’s GM since 2010.
