According to Mike Puma of the New York Post, the Mets won’t know for a couple of days whether Steven Matz will return for his next start or if Corey Oswalt will remain in his spot in the rotation.
Oswalt threw well yesterday, aside from one bad inning when he allowed a game-tying two run home run. On the day, Oswalt completed six innings while allowing three runs, eight hits, and no walks to go along with four strikeouts.

The New York Mets announced on Friday afternoon they’ve placed lefty Steven Matz on the 10-day disabled list with a flexor pronator strain in his left arm and recalled righty Corey Oswalt from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Oswalt will get the start on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves in the final game of their four-game series at Citi Field.
In 21 starts this season, Matz has a 4.35 earned-run average, a 1.337 WHIP, and an 88 ERA+. The 27-year-old is currently at 107.2 innings pitched for the 2018 season, his career-high was 132.1 innings back in 2016.
Oswalt, 24, made four starts in his last stint in the majors. In those starts, he went 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA and a 0.850 WHIP. In his last three starts, he allowed three hits or fewer.
