The New York Mets announced Wednesday they have inked outfielder Zach Borenstein to a minor league deal with an invitation to Major League Spring Training.

Borenstein, 27, has spent the last two seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks Triple-A affiliate the Reno Aces.

In 2017, he appeared in 122 games and hit .279/.351/.573 with 24 homers and 94 RBI in 433 plate appearances.

The Illinois native was originally selected in the 23rd round of the 2011 draft by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He also played for Israel in this years World Baseball Classic qualifier.
