The Mets have signed outfielder Ryan Cordell to a minor league deal according to Baseball America.

Cordell, 27, hit .221/.290/.355 with eight doubles, seven home runs, 24 RBIs, and 69 strikeouts in 247 plate appearances for the White Sox last season. He played all three outfield spots, with 72 games in right, 19 in center, and two in right field.

Cordell is a .273/.334/.458 hitter in 517 minor league games between the White Sox, Rangers, and Brewers organizations.

The right-handed hitter was in the 98th percentile in outfielders jumps, 80th percentile in outs above average, and 96th percentile in sprint speed in 2019 according to Baseball Savant.

Cordell joins OF Jarrett Parker, UT Max Moroff, LHP Chasen Shreve, C David Rodriguez, and RHP Francisco Rios as players the Mets have signed to minor league deals this offseason.
