Jerry Blevins

According to Matt Yallof of MLB Network on Twitter, the Mets and relief pitcher Jerry Blevins have agreed to a one-year deal worth $4 million, with $1 million in performance bonuses.

Blevins, 32, was acquired by the Mets prior to Opening Day from the Nationals in exchange for outfielder Matt den Dekker, and appeared in seven games for the Mets, pitching to a 1-0 record with a pristine 0.00 ERA before being struck by a comeback line drive in April and subsequently missing the rest of the season after aggravating the injury later when recovering.

Blevins is a left-handed specialist that the Mets so desperately needed in their bullpen, and after a nice start to the year this past season, Blevins will take his talents back to New York and look to find the same success.

For his career, Blevins has held lefties to a .206/.257/.322 clip in parts of nine seasons, mostly with the Athletics, but making a stop in Washington before being acquired by the Mets in 2015.
