The New York Mets officially retired Mike Piazza’s #31 in a special pre-game ceremony on Saturday, July 30 at Citi Field. The Mets have four other retired numbers (#37 for Casey Stengel, #14 for Gil Hodges, #41 for Tom Seaver and #42 retired by every MLB team for Jackie Robinson).
Mets players all wore jerseys and hats featuring a special Mike Piazza patch.
