The New York mets announced a trio of roster moves prior to Tuesday night’s game against the Atlanta Braves.

Catcher Patrick Mazeika has been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse. This doesn’t come as a surprise after Tomas Nido left after being hit by a pitch on the wrist in Game 2 of Monday night’s doubleheader split with Atlanta.

Mazeika had a brief stint with the big league club earlier this season, picking up a trio of RBI, and his first career homer. He was hitting .283 with a .761 OPS in 12 games with Triple-A Syracuse since being sent down.

In a corresponding roster move, the Mets optioned infielder Brandon Drury to Triple-A. The veteran infielder enjoyed some success coming off the bench for the Mets, but was hitting just .182 over 24 games.

The Mets also announced that they’ve claimed right-hander Robert Stock off of waivers from the Chicago Cubs, and he’s been optioned to Triple-A Syracuse as well.

The 31-year old right-hander pitched against the Mets last week at Citi Field, and allowed five earned run and issued six walks in four innings of work in his season debut. Stock was designated for assignment by the Cubs earlier this week.

Stock spent time with the Cubs, Boston Red Sox, and San Diego Padres in his four year big league career. He is a hard-thrower, has topped out at 102 MPH, but struggles with control at times.
