After appearing in four innings for the Mets, and pitching to a 0.00 ERA, right hander Jake Reed has been placed on the 10-day injured list retroactive to August 19. Reed is experiencing right forearm inflammation.

Reed had been looking sharp since joining the Mets; in two games he had only given up two hits, zero walks, with a total of five strikeouts with a 0.50 WHIP.

The Mets have recalled RHP Yennsy Díaz from Triple-A Syracuse. In 17 games for the Mets this year, Díaz has gone 21 2/3 innings pitched, has a 4.15 ERA, 20 strikeouts, 19 hits, 10 earned runs, 10 walks, with a 1.34 WHIP.

The Mets have also announced they’ve placed catcher James McCann on the injured list and recalled right-handed pitcher Geoff Hartlieb.
