With Neil Walker being traded to the Milwaukee Brewers prior to Saturday night’s bout with the Phillies, the Mets announced they have promoted right-hander Kevin McGowan from Triple-A Las Vegas.

McGowan, 25, has spent the entirety of the 2017 season with the 51s, pitching to a 5-4 record, with a 4.06 ERA in 44 games.

The New Hampshire native was a 13th round pick by the Mets back in 2013 and worked primarily as a starter from 2014-15 before he was moved to the bullpen by the organization.
