The Mets and Phillies game set for Friday night at Citizens Bank Park has been officially rained out. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on August 20.

Now the Phillies will have to let the taste of their ninth inning collapse on Thursday night linger another day. The Mets scored seven runs in the ninth inning to beat the Phillies by a 8-7 score.

The pitching matchup for Friday night was scheduled to be right-hander Max Scherzer for the Mets against right-hander Kyle Gibson for the Phillies.

Mets and Phillies are scheduled to play at 4:05 p.m. ET on Saturday, though the forecast is showing rain into the early evening with heavy wind gusts. We will keep you posted on updates.
