justin ruggiano

The New York Mets have outrighted outfielder Justin Ruggiano off their 40-man roster. He cleared waivers and elected free agency.

He played eight games with the Mets in 2016 before going down with a bad left shoulder. In those eight games, Ruggiano hit .350/.409/.650 with two home runs and six RBIs.

Mets fans will remember him for crushing a grand slam off Madison Bumgarner in San Francisco during his brief tenure as a Met.

His value lies in his solid defense, as well as his ability to crush lefty pitching, hitting .275/.338/.527 off them in his career.
