The Mets announced before their game on Thursday that they’ve recalled right-handed pitcher Sean Reid-Foley and sent right-hander Trevor Hildenberger to the Alternate Training Site.

Hildenberger allowed four runs in 1 1/3 innings on Wednesday in the Mets 16-4 loss to the Cubs at Wrigley Field. It was just his second outing of the season, he tossed a scoreless inning with two strikeouts in his first on April 17 vs the Rockies.

Reid-Foley, 25, was acquired during the offseason along with right-handers Yennsy Diaz and Josh Winckowski when the Mets traded Steven Matz to the Blue Jays.

The former second round pick has a 4.40 ERA and 76 strikeouts in 71 big league innings. Reid-Foley can give the Mets length out of the bullpen, with 13 of his 21 major league appearances coming as starts. He threw two scoreless innings in big league camp for the Mets this Spring.

Joey Lucchesi starts for the Mets on Thursday and he hasn’t thrown more than three innings in an outing over the last two seasons.
