Castillo was acquired from the Diamondbacks Friday for cash considerations. The move gave the Mets another left-handed option in the bullpen after Danny Young and A.J. Minter went down for the remainder of the 2025 season. Castillo pitched to a 11.37 ERA and 2.053 WHIP

Meanwhile, Núñez struggled in his return to the major league roster. The right-hander was one of the Mets most reliable arms last season, but struggled to a 7.36 ERA with six walks in 3 2/3 innings.
