The Mets announced on Friday that they’ve optioned infielder José Peraza to the Alternate Site and recalled left-handed reliever Daniel Zamora.

Peraza has been on the active roster twice this season, but has not played in a game to this point. The 27-year-old (today is his birthday) signed a minor league deal with the Mets this offseason.

Zamora, 28, is making his first appearance on the big league roster in 2021. He did throw 4 2/3 scoreless innings during Spring Training.

Fellow lefty Jerry Blevins recently retired and left-hander Stephen Tarpley struggled in his Mets debut (2 ER, no outs recorded).

The former 40th round pick has a career 4.08 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 17 major league innings for the Mets spanning 2018 and 2019.
