Friday afternoon, the New York Mets announced that they optioned lefty P.J. Conlon to Triple-A Las Vegas in order to make room for Noah Syndergaard after he was activated from the 10-day disabled list.
Conlon, 24, is in his second stint with the Mets organization after being designated for assignment by the Mets in late May, enjoying a four-day cup-of-coffee with the Dodgers in June, and returning to the Mets immediately after.
Conlon has posted a 8.22 ERA is three appearances this season though he threw two scoreless innings in his lone appearance this time around.
Syndergaard has missed a significant amount of time since he was placed on the DL on May 29 with a strained ligament in his right index finger. He started his season 4-1 with a 3.06 ERA in 11 starts. Syndergaard is scheduled to return Friday night against the Nationals.
