Brett Baty is back in the majors.

The Mets prospect was officially recalled by the team on Monday prior to their series with the Los Angeles Dodgers. In a corresponding move the Mets sent outfielder Tim Locastro to the 10-day injured list with back spasms.

The Mets also optioned José Butto back to Syracuse and recalled right handed pitcher Edwin Uceta from Triple-A.

Baty has dominated Triple-A this season and his promotion was only a matter of time due to his prospect pedigree and the poor start to the season by Eduardo Escobar.

In his first game back with the Mets, Baty will play third base and bat eighth.
