It was a solid day all around for the Mets’ prospects on Wednesday. Mitch Voit began his tenure in Binghamton with a bang, with three hits, including a double and triple. Corey Collins continues to shred Double-A pitching. He enjoyed a two-hit night, including a home run. Through seven games in Double-A, he’s slashing .375/.444/.667 with two homers and six RBIs.

The Rumble Ponies were able to keep the Fightin’s at bay throughout the game, only allowing three total walks as a staff. The lead didn’t hold, though, as Garrett Stratton gave up a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth.

The Brooklyn bats came alive on Wednesday. Colin Houck was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, and it was much needed as he was hitless in his last three games, entering Wednesday. Randy Guzman played his second game in Brooklyn since being promoted from St. Lucie, and racked up three hits, including a double, which has him at 4-for-8 overall in High-A. Daiverson Gutierrez only had one hit, but it was a big one, a walk-off three-run homer in the ninth, to complete the comeback for the Cyclones.

Nicolas Carreno got the start for Brooklyn, but control issues knocked him out early. He walked four and allowed four runs, yet still struck out six. The lefty has struck out 18 batters over his last three starts. The rest of the bullpen did enough to keep it close; Luis R. Rodriguez had a strong two innings, striking out five of the six batters he faced.
