Serrano was a 2024 fourth-round pick out of NC State who hit seven homers in 383 plate appearances for Brooklyn last season. Vargas stole his fifth base in as many tries. He swiped 40 last year.

Suarez, 26, posted a 3.05 ERA in 82 2/3 innings last year at Binghamton, but gave up 11 earned runs in 10 2/3 innings at Syracuse.

Pitching dominated on Coney Island. Brooklyn was held to two hits. Cyclone pitching struck out a season-high-tying 18 and walked only three.

Hudepohl, 24, had his best outing of the season after giving up nine earned runs total in his first two starts.

Guzman has three homers and seven RBIs in his last three games. Salgado was signed as an undrafted free agent last year after hitting 12 homers and posting a 1.000 OPS in 64 games at UCLA. Peña has hit safely in 10 of 12 games played.
