Syracuse (10-7) 4, Pawtucket (7-9) 1  Box Score

Syracuse was the only Mets minor league affiliate to play on Sunday afternoon and would defeat the Red Sox by pushing across four runs on seven hits. The offense had opportunities to do more damage, but were just 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position. They jumped on the board in the first inning as the first three batters loaded the bases and two runs were brought home on sacrifice flies. Nido added a run with another sacrifice fly in the fourth inning. Hechavarria drove in the fourth run when he singled home Blanco in the fifth inning. Frazier played the first four innings of the game at shortstop before shifting over to third base as he continues his rehab.

Syracuse pitchers combined to strike out ten batters and allow just a single unearned run in Sunday’s game. Most impressively, they successfully worked out of trouble throughout the game, stranding 13 runners and limiting the Red Sox to just a single hit in 17 at bats with runners in scoring position. This was Coleman’s best start since joining the Mets organization, although he does continue to have some control issues, walking six batters in 12.0 innings pitched. Caminero has not allowed a run and has given up just two hits over his first five outings of the season.
