Lee and Coleman pitched well enough to leave the Mets in position to win departing with a 7-4 lead after six innings. The bullpen would falter in the seventh though with the recently promoted Roseboom taking the brunt. After a lead-off single against Coleman, Roseboom entered the game and allowed two more singles and a walk, allowing the inherited run to score and leaving the bases loaded. Gilliam would enter the game and try to bail out Roseboom, but, after striking out the first batter, a sacrifice fly and a two RBI double allowed all three inherited runners to score giving the Charlotte Knights the lead.

St. Lucie (35-34) 5, Lakeland (29-39) 1 Box Score

Winaker opened up the scoring for the Mets with his first home run of the season, a two run shot, in the bottom of the second inning. It’s been a rough season for him thus far but perhaps this performance could help him break out of his season long slump.

He would settle in though and struck out three of the next five batters he faced before reaching his assigned pitch limit for the game. The game’s original starter, Daison Acosta, was superb on the night with the only run scoring on a wild pitch.

DSL Angels (6-7) 8, DSL Mets1 (7-8) 5 Box Score

Cornielly was BABIP’d to death in this game as the Angels collected six runs on seven ground ball singles in the first inning to knock him out of the game after only 0.1 innings pitched.

DSL Tigers1 (7-8) 7, DSL Mets2 (7-9) 6 Box Score

The DSL Mets2 offense racked up six runs on fourteen hits but left a small village on the bases going 4-for-19 with runners in scoring position and stranding fifteen guys on base.
