Sacramento 5, Las Vegas (2-2) 4

The 51s scored three runs in the bottom of the 9th but the rally fell short when Rene Rivera struck out to end the game with T.J. Rivera stranded on second base. Matt Reynolds lead the Las Vegas offense, going 2 for 4 with a run scored and is now hitting .462 with five runs scored on the year. He played second base for the first time this season after playing third in the first three games.

Brandon Nimmo was moved up to the leadoff spot finally, he went 1 for 4 with a double and RBI. Travis Taijeron (1-4) had the big hit of the night with a two-run triple in the 9th inning rally.

Sean Gilmartin got the start, going 3.2 innings allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four. Erik Goeddel took the loss, he gave up a solo homerun to former big leaguer Miguel Olivo. Josh Smoker and Jeff Walters each threw a scoreless inning of relief.  Box Score

Harrisburg 4, Binghamton 3, (11 innings)

The B-Mets offense failed to get the big hit all night that they needed, going 1-13 with runners in scoring position and leaving 13 men on base. The only hit with RISP came from outfielder Victor Cruzado who was 2 for 5 with a two-run double in the 5th inning.

Dominic Smith continued his early season struggles going 0 for 6 and is now has only one hit in 14 at bats to start his Double-A career. Jeff McNeil went 0 for 4 but walked two times and scored a run.

Lefty Kyle Regnault made his AA debut and the second start in his Mets career (38 relief appearances) going 5 solid innings. He gave up two runs on four hits and walked two compared to four strikeouts. Luis Mateo took the loss after allowing the run in the final inning, he threw only 9 strikes in 21 pitches and has struggled with his command in both outings this year. Box Score

St. Lucie 1 (4-2), Dunedin 0

The only run of the game was scored because of the speed factor from Amed Rosario who tripled then scored on the play after a throwing error in the 6th inning. The young shortstop is hitting .321 with a .500 slugging percentage through six games.

John Mora extended his hitting streak to six game with a 1 for 3 night and the birthday boy Tomas Nido pushed his streak to five games after going 1 for 4.

Casey Delgado went six scoreless innings in his St. Lucie debut giving up only two hits and striking out five. Lefty Alberto Baldonado and Corey Taylor combined for three hitless innings of relief with the latter picking up his first pro save. Box Score

Game 1: Columbia 3 (2-3), Rome 1

Righty Tyler Badamo made his full season debut for the Fireflies and was his normal efficient slef needing only 72 pitches (54 strikes) to throw six innings of one-run ball. Johnny Magliozzi pitched a 1-2-3 7th inning to pikc up his first save of the season.

Ivan Wilson had the key hit in the game with a two-run double in the second inning, he was 1 for 4 in the game. David Thompson went 1 for 3 with a double and his seventh run batted in. Vinny Siena continued his great start with a 2 for 3 game out of the three hole in the lineup. Box Score

Game 2: Columbia 3 (3-3), Rome 2

The Fireflies scored three runs in the final inning and Tyler Bashlor threw a 1-2-3 7th for his first save of the season to complete the doubleheader sweep. Joe Shaw made his first pro start (12th RD, 2015) and what a start it was, pitching six innings allowing two runs on five hits without walking a batter and striking out eight.

Thompson extended his hitting streak with a single and run scored in three at bats. The other two Fireflies hits came from outfielder Joe Tuschak and catcher Jose Garcia, both singles. Kevin Kaczmarski went o for 1 with two walks and a run scored. Box Score
