Omaha 2, Las Vegas 51s 1 (49-45) Box Score
- Brandon Nimmo CF 2 for 4, R, .331/.410/.508
- Travis Taijeron RF 1 for 3, K, .307/.395/.565
Nimmo returned to the lineup in style as he collected two hits. If De Aza is designated for assignment (God bless us all if he is), Nimmo should definitely be the guy the Mets turn to.
- Gabriel Ynoa RHP 7 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 2 K (L, 9-4, 4.09 ERA)
- Jim Henderson RHP 1 IP, 2 K, three consecutive scoreless innings
Ynoa, who has struggled as of late, pitched very well, but picked up his 4th loss of the year as the offense couldn’t get it done. Jim Henderson continues to look healthy in his rehab assignment as he picked up two strikeouts. Henderson could and should return soon, with Goeddel struggling lately.
Binghamton Mets (41-51) 5, Bowie 2 Box Score
- Champ Stuart CF 1 for 4, 2B, .242/.306/.364
- Amed Rosario SS 2 for 4, 2B, 3B, R .410/.472/.603
- Dominic Smith 1B 2 for 3, HR, 2 RBI, R .293/.353/.460
All Amed has done since his very well deserved promotion is hit, he has hit in 20 of his 21 games with the B-Mets. Smith hit his 11th HR of the year as he continues to extend his career high.
- Tyler Pill RHP 7 IP, 5 H, ER, 2 BB, 5 K (W, 7-8, 3.85)
Pill pitched very well, which is a surprise. We all know Michael & I would much rather see Pill hit on a consistent basis than pitch, but you can’t deny that he has been impressive as of late. He tied the B-Mets team record with his 23rd career victory with them.
St. Lucie Mets (50-41) 9, Tampa 1 Box Score
- David Thompson 3B 2 for 5, 2B, RBI, 2 K, .256/.309/.394
- Tomas Nido C 1 for 4, 2 RBI, BB, K, .319/.358/.471
- Jhoan Urena DH 0 for 2, 2 R, 3 BB, K, .224/.290/.354
Tomas Nido has had a breakout season and continues to be one of the more underrated prospects in the Mets’ system.
- Ricky Knapp RHP 6.2 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K (W, 9-4, 2.14)
- Alex Palsha RHP 1.1 IP, 2 H, BB, 4 K
Knapp continues to be one of St. Lucie’s most trusted starters as he picked up his 9th win of the year. Palsha has also looked great since being promoted from Columbia and has still not allowed a run with them.
Columbia Fireflies: Suspended, tied at 0.
Brooklyn Cyclones 6 (14-17), Hudson Valley 3 Box Score
- Ali Sanchez C 1 for 3, R, 2 BB, .250/.311/.309
- Peter Alonso 1B 2 for 4, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, BB, .289/.372/.553
- Blake Tiberi 3B 1 for 4, R, 2B, BB, .208/.289/.278
- Colby Woodmansee SS 2 for 5, R, 2 RBI, K, .284/.330/.368
Brooklyn got the bats going as they collected their first RBI in 29 innings thanks to Woodmansee’s two-run single. I am a huge fan of him and being that I have followed Brooklyn extensively since that start of their season, it has been awesome watching him play. Peter Alonso looked very good today as he launched his 2nd pro homer, a two-run shot and a long double off of the wall.
- Erik Manoah RHP 5 IP, 4 H, ER, BB, K (W, 3-1, 4.75)
While his ERA may not show it, Manoah has been very solid on the mound for Brooklyn.
