Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (18-25) 1, Norfolk Tides (30-12) 0 BOX SCORE

The Mets were 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position, but they got the one run they needed in the top of the fifth on an RBI single by Jaylin Davis. His 10 RBIs in May are tied for third on the team this month. Mauricio had his seventh game of three hits or more this year and he has 11 doubles this month (most in the International League).

Lucchessi dominated in his first start with Syracuse since being sent down to Triple-A as he only allowed one extra-base hit in six innings. The Mets staff as a whole did not walk a single batter in the victory.

Double-A: New Hampshire Fishercats (19-17) 6, Binghamton Rumble Ponies (16-20) 0 – BOX SCORE

The Rumble Ponies managed only two hits and struck out 12 times against three different Fishercat pitchers. Rudick had one of the two hits and he extended his hit streak to seven games.

In the loss, Chacin ended up having his season-high for walks in a start (3) and he allowed a pair of home runs (5 home runs allowed in his last 3 starts). Yacabonis came in after Chacin as part of his rehab assignment.

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (14-20) 6, Hudson Valley Renegades (22-15) 1 – BOX SCORE

 The Cyclones had seven players in their lineup record at least one hit in the win and they scored all six runs after the fifth inning. Ramírez got the scoring started in the sixth with an RBI double and he came around to score on a Palmer sacrifice fly. He has driven in a run in three of his last four games. Parada ended up having an RBI of his own with a single in the seventh.

As a team, Brooklyn was hit six times by three different Renegades pitchers.

Suarez went five innings for the second time this year in six starts and he has recorded five or more strikeouts in four of his last five outings. The only run he allowed came on a solo home run in the fifth. Brodey ended up getting the final nine outs and picked up his first professional save.

Since coming back off the IL, Dominguez is 4-for-12 at the plate and has driven in a run in all three games he’s appeared in. Perozo ended up having a season-high for hits in a game (3). Ota got the scoring started for St. Lucie with a home run in the fifth for his first professional home run since 2019.

Orellana ended up being the pitcher who came in once the game was resumed and ended up having a season-high for most innings in a start and strikeouts. Loper ended up allowing Palm Beach to take the lead when they scored two in the eighth to break a 2-2 tie.

Game 2: Palm Beach Cardinals (24-13) 6, St. Lucie Mets (8-29) 0 – BOX SCORE

The Mets managed only three hits in Game 2 as they took their ninth straight loss. Villaviciencio had a hit in both games as he extended his hit streak to five games. Nido was in the St. Lucie lineup as he began his rehab assignment as he comes back from dry eye syndrome.

It was a rough second games for Ovalles as he had a season-high for walks in a start (8). He walked the bases loaded in the second before allowing an RBI single. Then, in the fifth, he walked the first three batters of the inning again, which led to three runs.
