The Mets decided to call up 1B/3B/DH Mark Vientos from Triple-A Syracuse, with Starling Marte going on the injured list. Vientos has a 1.000 OPS this season in Syracuse.

Gervase has the second-lowest ERA in minor league baseball (35 innings minimum) at 1.19; only Rangers right-hander Alex Speas has one lower at 1.00. Speas made his big league debut on Wednesday.
