Game 1: Rochester Red Wings 4 (21-29), Syracuse Mets 1 (13-36) Box Score

  • CF Brandon Nimmo 0 for 3, .172/.333/.207
  • 3B JD Davis 0 for 3, SO, .143/.250/.357

The Mets lost game one of their doubleheader.  Davis and Nimmo will both only play in game one and sit the next game as they continue their rehab stint.  Wilfredo Tovar came through with an RBI single in the second to cut the score to 2-1, but that would be all Syracuse would get.  Drury continues to hit the ball well as he collected another hit tonight going 1-2.  The 24 year old Met Yennsy Diaz, who was acquired via the Steven Matz trade threw one perfect inning in relief striking out two as well.

  • RHP Yennsy Diaz 1 IP, 2 K, 4.15 ERA

Game 2: Syracuse Mets 6 (14-36), Rochester Red Wings 5 (21-30) Box Score

  • LF Mason WIlliams 3 for 4, 2 RBI, SB, .407/.471/.610
  • RF Khalil Lee 2 for 4, 3B, 2 R, RBI. SO, .275/.432/.422
  • 3B Jonathan Villar 0 for 3, R, BB, .000/.250/.000

The Mets win a thriller in game two of their doubleheader as they win 6-5.  Khalil Lee continues to hit the ball very well in the minors as he picked up two hits, one of them a triple, and scored the game winning run.  The Mets were down 5-1 and came back to win it 6-5.  Puello had the walk off hit as he hit it just over the head of the right fielder which led to Lee racing around and coming home.  Drew Jackson made some incredible plays tonight as he caught not one, but two balls deep in center field while crashing into the wall.  Villar continues his rehab stint as he played third base in game two and looks to be back with the Mets shortly.  The bullpen for the Mets was outstanding as they allowed just one run over 5.1 innings pitched, highlighted by Nogosek going 2 allowing no runs and striking out a pair.

  • RHP Stephen Nogosek 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K, 5.11 ERA
  • RHP Marcel Renteria (W, 3-0) 1 IP, 2 K, 7.88 ERA

Binghamton Rumble Ponies: Weather delay, postponed, will be made up as a doubleheader on July 2nd

Aberdeen IronBirds 2 (28-22), Brooklyn Cyclones 0 (17-32) Box Score

  • DH Brett Baty 1 for 2, SO, .323/.421/.535
  • C Francisco Alvarez 1 for 2, .331/.457/.597

Brooklyn lost to the IronBirds as the game was delayed and cancelled in the bottom of the 6th.  Ronny Mauricio was not in the lineup as he was having x-rays on his hand and if they come back negative he will look to be back in the lineup by the weekend.  Baty and Alvarez continued to hit the ball well as they both collected two of the four hits the Cyclones had tonight in their shortened game.  Duplantis recorded a pair of hits for himself in the game as the 24 year old college baseball star from LSU continues tp hit the ball well.  Opp started for Brooklyn tonight as he fell in some tough luck.  Opp took the loss in the shortened game and had only one earned run tonight striking out seven across five innings allowing only three hits.  He threw the ball very well tonight nonetheless as he had good command of the strike zone and kept hitters off balance for most of the night.

  • LHP Cam Opp (L, 1-4) 5 IP, 3 H, 2 R, ER, BB, 7 K, 6.39 ERA

Game 1: Clearwater Threshers 5 (26-24), St. Lucie Mets 3 (27-23) Box Score

  • CF Alex Ramirez 1 for 4, 2B, RBI, SO, .277/.336/.429
  • 3B Jaylen Palmer 1 for 3, R, SB, SO, .252/.370/.321

Game one went to the Threshers as St. Lucie lost in their first seven inning game by two runs.  The Mets 18 year old prospect from the Dominican Republic Alex Ramirez continues to impress many.  He is looked at as a top 10 prospect in this organization and continues to impress.  Ramirez had a two out RBI double to center field in the top of the third cutting the lead to 2-1.  There is some speculation that at this age Ramirez looks to be a better player than Amed Rosario was at this time, but time will tell.  Palmer continues to hit the ball well as he added another hit and stole his 17th bag of the season while he was at it.  Junior Santos got hit pretty hard as he allowed five runs across six innings.  He did in fact have good command of his pitches surrendering only one walk in those six to go with his six strikeouts.

  • RHP Junior Santos 6 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, BB, 6 K, 6.28 ERA

Game 2: Clearwater Threshers 4 (27-24), St. Lucie Mets 2 (27-24) Box Score

  • CF Alex Ramirez 1 for 4, 3 SO, .276/.336/.429
  • C Nic Gaddis 2 for 3, HR, 2B, 2 R, RBI, .280/.449/.560

The Mets lost both games of their doubleheader to the Threshers scoring 5 runs across 14 innings.  Ramirez picked up another hit, but struck out three times as well.  Jaylen Palmer picked up another stolen base which marks his 18th bag of the season and Gaddis had a big day at the plate.  The Mets 2019 16th round draft pick had a solo homer to go along with a double as well.  Gaddis slash line is very impressive as the 24 year old catcher looks to keep it going in Low A.  Oscar Rojas got the start for the Mets as the 22 year old threw remotely well.  He picked up his first loss of the season as the home run ball played a role in three of the four runs he let up and he picked up seven strike outs in 5.1 innings pitched.  Rojas suffered two walks in his outing and he still has an ERA under two on the year.

  • RHP Oscar Rojas (L, 2-1) 5.1 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, 1.91 ERA
