Mauricio’s biggest note from the night must be his error at second base. In came in the sixth inning on a tailor-made double play ball with the bases loaded. It’s his sixth error in 24 games at second base, where he has certainly not looked completely comfortable as he learns the new position.

Araúz has hit three home runs in his last three games after hitting only two in the first 41 games of the season.

Lucchesi was cruising into the sixth inning when he ran into the buzzsaw that is Elly De La Cruz. The consensus top 5 prospect in baseball hit a 450-foot, 117.7 mph two-run blast to left field.

Lavender struck out De La Cruz on three pitches in the top of the 10th inning, the last one being a 90 mph fastball. Lavender followed by striking out another big-time prospect in Christian Encarnacion-Strand. Unfortunately, Lavender ran out of gas (42 pitches in the outing) and allowed an RBI double to former Met Matt Reynolds and another RBI hit later in the inning. The left-hander has struck out 40.3% of the batters he’s faced this year and has held opponents to a .141 average.

Double-A: Binghamton (19-22) 2, Richmond (21-20) 1 Box Score

The Rumble Ponies won on a walk-off sac fly by right fielder Agustin Ruiz in the bottom of the ninth inning. Outfielder Matt Rudick had a very rare o-for-4 game. Peroza scored the winning run, and his 148 wRC+ ranks seventh in the league. Rudick is still ranked second at 180.

The Binghamton pitching staff didn’t walk a batter in their 2-1 win.

High-A: Winston-Salem (24-16) 6, Brooklyn (17-22) 1 Box Score

Narváez was playing in his first rehab game as he works his way back from a left calf strain. He struck out on a pitch clock violation. Ramírez has a .865 OPS with nine RBIs and nine walks in his last 16 games.

Rodriguez has thrown three straight scoreless outings. The 26-year-old is beginning his first full season as a pitcher after playing almost exclusively middle infield in his first four pro seasons.
