Syracuse lost their 13th game in a row on Wednesday despite having a one run lead through the first seven innings.

Nimmo continued his rehab assignment. He batted three times, going 0-for-2 with a walk. Nimmo also played five innings in center field before being replaced by Drew Ferguson.

Lee and Blankenhorn turned in strong performances. Lee was on base three times, walking twice and hitting a groundball single to center.

Blankenhorn also got on base three times and also stole a base. Like Lee, he also walked twice and had a groundball single. In six games with Syracuse, Blankenhorn has hit .389/.538/.944 with three homers and seven walks.

The 26-year-old Bostick got the start for Syracuse, giving up one run in three innings. A.J. Schugel piggy-backed Bostick and also gave up one run in three innings.

Betances made his first appearance since having his rehab assignment moved up to Syracuse from St. Lucie and tossed a scoreless seventh inning. After giving up back-to-back singles to start the inning, he settled down and got a strikeout and an inning ending double play. His fastball topped out at 93 mph.

Stephen Nogosek blew the lead in the eighth inning and the Syracuse offense was unable to mount a comeback.

AA: Reading Fightin Phils (16-28) 8, Binghamton Rumble Ponies (13-29) 6

Reading took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first inning and never gave up the lead despite big nights from Vientos, Mangum, Romero, and Lagrange.

Vientos homered for the second straight night and also drew a walk. His numbers just keep getting better and better as he continues a torrid month of June. He has seven home runs in his last 16 games and an OPS of 1.018 in June.

Jake Mangum had a home run and two singles. One of the singles was a bunt that was fielded by Reading’s third baseman and the other was a flyball to left.

Carlos Cortes recorded another extra base hit, his 16th double. It drove in a run and came on a flyball to center field.

Miller appeared in his first game since the Mets traded Jacob Barnes for him and gave up five runs in 5 1/3 innings. RHP Yeizo Campos and RHP Joe Zanghi combined to give up three runs in the remaining 2 2/3 innings.

Brooklyn won a walk-off single by Jose Mena.

Alvarez was not in the lineup on Wednesday after leaving Tuesday’s game early. The missed time is a result of being hit with a foul ball while catching but the team doesn’t think it’s a major injury and doesn’t expect him to miss much time.

Baty had another strong game, getting on base twice and hitting his 11th double of the season. The double came on a line drive to left field.

The game was suspended by rain with one out in the bottom of the sixth and will be resumed on Thursday.

Ramirez’ numbers continue to trend upward. His first single came on a groundball to left and his second was a sharp line drive to left.

Dyer continued his hot stretch, getting on base three times and hitting his fifth home run.
