Triple-A

Syracuse Mets (27-39) 6, Buffalo Bisons (30-37) 0 (5 Innings)

BOX SCORE

  • 1B Luke Voit: 1-for-1, 2 R, HR (3), 2 RBIs (13), 2 BB (1.140 OPS)
  • 2B Luke Ritter: 2-for-3, 2 R, HR (2), RBI (14) (.635 OPS)
  • RF DJ Stewart: 1-for-3, R, HR (14), 2 RBIs (32) (.903 OPS)
  • 3B Nick Meyer: 1-for-2, R, RBI (14), K (.579 OPS)
  • LF Ronny Mauricio: 0-for-3 (.897 OPS)

In a rain-shortened game, the Mets ended up scoring at least one run in each inning from the second to the fifth. Luke Voit ended up hitting his second homer as a member of the Mets organization with a solo shot in the third. In the following inning, Ritter hit a solo shot of his own. Then, in the fifth, Stewart hit a two-run shot for his 14th of the year. He has five home runs and 11 RBIs this month.

  • RHP Vinny Nittoli (3.96 ERA): 2 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 2 K (14 of 23 pitches for strikes)
  • RHP Hunter Parsons (2-0, 0.00): 3 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 2 BB, 5 K (34 of 56 pitches for strikes)

The Mets went with a bullpen game and it ended up causing them to not use a lot of pitchers due to the shortened contest. After Nittoli finished his outing, Parsons held the Bisons to one hit and he had a new high for his time at Triple-A with five strikeouts. In his five outings with Syracuse, he has yet to allow an earned run.

Double-A

Portland Sea Dogs (37-24) 7, Binghamton Rumble Ponies (30-30) 5

BOX SCORE

Despite the loss for the Rumble Ponies, the offense tried to mount a comeback after facing a 4-0 deficit before they stepped to the plate. Suozzi had three hits in a game for the third time this year (first time in Double-A). He has recorded at least one hit in 9 of the 11 games he has appeared in this month. His solo home run in the bottom of the second got the Rumble Ponies on the board. As for Mcllwain, his solo home run in the ninth gave him his fourth home run in June (currently second on the team).

  • RHP Dominic Hamel (2-4, 5.62): 2/3 IP, 4 ER, 4 H, BB, K, WP, HBP (18 of 35 pitches for strikes)
  • RHP Marcel Renteria (4.29): 3 1/3 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 2 BB, K
  • RHP Nolan Clenney (4.58): 1 1/3 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 4 BB, 2 K

It was a rough night for Hamel as he was unable to get out of the first inning and  6 of the 8 batters he faced ended up reaching base in the inning. Renteria did a good job providing some length out of the bullpen as he had his longest outing of the season. Meanwhile, the Rumble Ponies pitching staff allowed three different players to steal two bases apiece.

High-A

Aberdeen Ironbirds (31-29) 3, Brooklyn Cyclones (25-35) 2

BOX SCORE

In this game, the Cyclones had all the players in the starting nine record at least one hit. Despite that feat, they only had one extra-base hit and they were 3-for-12 with runners in scoring position. Lugo had two hits, which was his fifth multi-hit game this month. De Los Santos drove in his ninth run of the month with an RBI groundout in the first (most on the Cyclones).

  • RHP Tyler Stuart (1.47): 6 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 6 K (54 of 85 pitches for strikes)
  • RHP Michael Krauza (0-2, 9.00): 2 1/3 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 2 H, 2 BB, K, WP

The pitcher with the lowest ERA in all of minor league baseball is Stuart, who only made those numbers with his start on Friday. The only mistake Stuart was a solo home run he allowed to Jacob Teter in the second. It is the third start this year where he has completed six innings and he has allowed one run or fewer in seven of his last eight starts.

Low-A

Palm Beach Cardinals (35-26) 1, St. Lucie Mets (22-38) 0 (5 Innings)

BOX SCORE

Even though the Mets offense only struck out three times, they managed just four hits in this game with Williams recording two of them. He had a one-out triple in the top of the first, but he was left stranded. The 19-year-old has had two hits or more in three of the last four games.

  • RHP Jordany Ventura (3-2, 4.93): 4 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 4 BB, 4 K, 2 HBP (40 of 78 pitches for strikes)

Ventura ran into more command issues as the 22-year-old has walked three batters or more in five consecutive outings. Palm Beach’s only run came in the bottom of the first on an RBI double by Leonardo Bernal. The right-hander walked the bases loaded to start the second, but he was able to escape without allowing a run.

 Dominican Summer League

DSL Mets Orange (5-4) 13, DSL NYY Bombers (6-3) 12

BOX SCORE

The Mets Orange squad scored 10 runs from the second-fifth inning, but they had to find a way to avoid an epic collapse after the Yankees DSL squad scored 10 runs in the top of the eighth. Baptist ended up playing the role of hero with a two-run home run to left. He has a four-game hit streak and has seven RBIs in that span. As for Zayas, the 17-year-old hit a solo home run in the third and he has driven in at least one run in seven of the eight games he has appeared in this year (.962 slugging percentage).

Moreta deserved to get the win in this game as he put together a solid outing. The only two runs he allowed came on a two-run single in the top of the first and he had the longest outing of his short career so far. Calvo came in after Moreta and he threw two scoreless innings. The left-hander has ten strikeouts in his last three outings (6 1/3 innings).

Meanwhile, three different pitchers on the Mets squad played a part in allowing those ten runs in the eighth with only one of those runs being scored via an extra-base hit (home run). Rodriguez was able to stop the damage and record a win in the process.

DSL Mets Blue (5-4) 7, DSL Nationals (0-9) 1

BOX SCORE

The Mets offense broke out with five runs in the top of the second. Ramirez drove in the fifth run of the inning with an RBI single and the 18-year-old had the first three-hit game of his career. In the first seven games of his career, Diaz has recorded multiple hits in three of them.

In his third start of the year, Aracena ended up allowing his first run in the bottom of the first on an RBI double from Manuel Cabrera. His walk total has gone up in each of his three starts (6 total in 8 1/3 innings). Meanwhile, Cortez came in after Aracena and struck out the side in the fourth.
