Syracuse entered the ninth inning with a two run lead before their offense exploded for five runs in the last inning to pull away from Worcester.

Lee homered for the second day in a row. His isolated slugging is now .208 and his wRC+ is 157.

Payton had another good game. His first hit was a bunt single and his second was a flare hit to the shallow outfield that drove in the Mets’ eighth run.

Lagrange appeared in a Triple-A game for the first time in his career and did well. He doubled on a sharp line drive to center field and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.

Jared Eickhoff started for Syracuse and gave up three runs in five innings.

Reed made his Syracuse debut and retired all three batters he faced, two of them via the strikeout.

Orze pitched in the first Triple-A game of his career and struck out four in two innings. His strikeout rate with Brooklyn was 30.2% and 37.9% with Binghamton, so it’s encouraging to see him continue to miss bats as he climbs the minor league ladder.

AA: Hartford Yard Goats (29-56) 3, Binghamton Rumble Ponies (36-48)

Box Score

Binghamton was shutout by Hartford’s pitching staff for the second consecutive day.

Baty was 0-for-4 and grounded into an inning ending double play with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the third inning.

Mangum had the Rumble Ponies’ only extra base hit, a double on a groundball to left field.

Yoel Romero was 1-for-3 with a line drive single to left. His wRC+ is 105 in 194 plate appearances with Binghamton.

Beggs hadn’t allowed a run through six innings but was removed from the game after he walked the first two batters he faced in the seventh.

Robinson relieved Beggs and retired the first two batters he faced but then gave up an RBI single, allowing one of Beggs’ runners to score.

A+: Resumption of Suspended 8/10 Game: Brooklyn Cyclones (34-49) 16, Wilmington Blue Rocks (34-51) 5

The suspended game resumed in the top of the fourth with Mauricio batting and the bases loaded.

Mauricio drilled a bases clearing triple on a line drive to right field, his fourth triple of the season. He also hit his twelfth double on a line drive to left field.

Alvarez had a huge game which included his fifteenth home run of the season, his thirteenth with the Cyclones. The teenager has now hit .243/.344/.524 (128 wRC+) in 224 plate appearances since being promoted to High-A.

Palmer had a nice game, getting on base three times and hitting his first double with Brooklyn on a line drive to left field.

In all, Brooklyn recorded 19 hits, six walks, four doubles, a triple, and three home runs. Eight different players got on base multiple times and everyone who batted recorded at least one hit.

After Jaison Vilera threw three scoreless innings on Tuesday, Hunter Parsons, Conner O’Neill, and Michel Otanez combined to give up five runs in the remaining six innings.

The tables turned on Brooklyn in their second game as the bats quieted down and Wilmington scored 15 runs.

The offense managed only four singles and three walks.

Peroza’s hit was a groundball to center field. He also made a throwing error.

Mauricio and Palmer both played error free defense but neither of them reached base.

After Opp’s nightmare start, right-hander Joe Cavallaro was the only Brooklyn reliever to have a scoreless outing.

A-: Doubleheader Game 1: St. Lucie Mets (45-37) 1, Dunedin Blue Jays (37-47) 0

The game was called after five innings of what was supposed to be the first of two seven inning games played between St. Lucie and Dunedin on Wednesday.

Martinez continued his rehab assignment and went 0-for-3 with a lineout to third base, a lineout to center field, and a groundout to shortstop.

Ramirez’ hit was a groundball single to left field.

Schwartz made his professional debut on Wednesday. The 111th overall pick of the 2021 draft out of UCLA reached on a fielding error that scored the game’s only run and struck out looking in his two plate appearances.

Kendall played error free defense at shortstop and hit two singles. His first hit was a flyball to left field and his second was a groundball to right field.

After recording a 2.70 ERA in six games with the FCL Mets, the 20-year-old Colina made his first appearance with St. Lucie on Wednesday. He struck out five and didn’t allow any extra base hits.
