Rochester Red Wings (41-45) 4, Syracuse Mets (35-51) 2

BOX SCORE

Only four players on the Mets recorded a hit in Friday’s loss. Despite the loss, Voit continued his home run barrage with a solo shot in the second for the team’s first run. He has homered four times in July and twice in the last four games. The other home run came from Mauricio in the fourth, who has driven in five runs in the last four games.

On a non-home run note, Vientos has recorded at least one hit in eight of his last nine games and he picked up his seventh three-hit game of the year.

The four runs that Butto allowed in this game came via the long ball, as he gave up a three-run home run in the first and a solo home run in the sixth. He has allowed six home runs in his last four starts.

Double-A

Somerset Patriots (48-32) 4, Binghamton Rumble Ponies (38-43) 2 (7 Innings)

While the game was cut short due to wet grounds, the Rumble Ponies only had three hits in six innings. Two of them came from Jordan, who has recorded multiple hits in three of the last seven games. Mcllwain drove in a run with an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth. He has recorded a hit in four consecutive games and has a .467 on-base percentage in 25 at-bats this month.

  • RHP Hunter Parsons (4.26): 1 2/3 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, BB, 3 K, Balk

Even though Hamel gave up a run in the first inning, it was his control that ended his night in the fourth. The right-hander gave up free passes to two of the first three batters he faced and both of them came around to score. The four walks he had tied a season-high.

Williams recorded multiple hits in both games and he has had a walk in four of the last five games. In the first game, he ended up stealing his 26th base of the year.

Henriquez picked up the win in his Low-A debut after having a 5.23 ERA in seven games down in the FCL. Thanks to the comeback, Orellana picked up the no-decision despite allowing the second-most runs in any outing he has had this year.

Florida Complex League

FCL Cardinals (9-16) 3, FCL Mets (15-9) 3 (Suspended In Top 7th)

In the no-decision, Ferrer not only tied his season-high for innings pitched in an outing, but the 19-year-old also tied his season-high in strikeouts. Out of the six hits he surrendered, three of them went for extra bases. Gomez came in in relief and struck out four of the six batters he faced (four K’s in back-to-back outings).

The only mistake that Diaz made in the loss was a two-run home run that he allowed in the bottom of the third. However, he had one player (Luis Watter) record four stolen bases against him. The 18-year-old has 15 strikeouts in three outings this month (10 1/3 IP). Zayas had an RBI single as part of a six-run third inning and he hit a solo home run in the fourth. The 17-year-old recorded his fourth three-hit game of the year.
