AAA: Lehigh Valley IronPigs (9-5) 16, Syracuse Mets (2-12) 1

Box Score

The Mets offense struggled to get anything going against the IronPigs, recording only one run, seven singles, and no extra base hits. Davis played six innings defensively and had a hard line drive to single to center field as he continued his rehab assignment.

It was a disastrous game for Syracuse’s pitching staff. Out of the six pitchers who were used, the only ones who had scoreless outings were Jordan Yamamoto and Bradley Roney. Even though Yamamoto didn’t give up any runs, he benefitted from two hard hit balls that turned into outs. He was scheduled to pitch only two innings because he’s likely to join the Mets in Miami this weekend.

AA: Erie SeaWolves (10-4) 5, Binghamton Rumble Ponies (1-12) 4

Box Score

Vientos hit two line drive doubles, his first two of the season. Romero continued to impress, getting on base four times. Carlos Cortes had a hitless night, going 0-for-5 with two strikeouts, a groundout, a flyout, and a pop out.

  • RHP Tony Dibrell (0-0, 1.93) 4 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 SO

Tony Dibrell had another good outing, giving up only one run in four innings. The 2017 fourth round pick now has a 28.6 K% and 8.6 BB% on the season. Yeizo Campos relieved Dibrell and gave up two unearned runs in 2 2/3 innings. Jared Robinson and Andrew Mitchell each had blown saves. Mitchell gave up a walk-off two run single to Tigers prospect Riley Greene in the bottom of the ninth.

A+: Brooklyn Cyclones (5-8) 14, Hudson Valley Renegades (7-7) 0

Box Score

It was a rout for Brooklyn, who scored 14 runs and had 14 hits in their win over Hudson Valley. Antoine Duplantis, Jake Mangum, Brett Baty, Joe Genord, and Anthony Walters all got on base multiple times. Ronny Mauricio had a well struck double off the wall for his only hit of the night. Brett Baty stole second base in the fifth inning. He’s now 2-for-3 on steal attempts to start the season.

As you can see in the video, Baty cleared the bases in the seventh inning with a little league grand slam.

Oscar Rojas, Allan Winans, Brian Metoyer, and Bryce Montes de Oca combined for nine shutout innings. Montes de Oca has now struck out 28.6% of his batters faced this season.

A: St. Lucie Mets (10-4) 11, Palm Beach Cardinals (5-9) 8

Box Score

St. Lucie got the win even though Francisco Alvarez got the day off, scoring 11 runs on 10 hits. Warren Saunders, Shervyen Newton, Matt Dyer, and Zach Ashford all had doubles and Jaylen Palmer got on base three times.

Noah Syndergaard made his first rehab start as he clears another hurdle in his recovery from Tommy John surgery. He was dominant over four innings, allowing only one baserunner and throwing strikes on 81% of his 44 pitches. Junior Santos relieved Syndergaard and struggled, but he still managed to go four innings and he picked up the win.
