With the Mets playing at 9:20, we have time to run a minor league chat. Two of the Mets’ top position player prospects A.J. Ewing and Elian Peña are off to great starts to the 2026 season. One of the Mets top pitching prospects, Jack Wenninger, will be on the mound tonight for Triple-A Syracuse.

Right-hander Jack Wenninger gets the start for Triple-A Syracuse. The former sixth round pick has a 1.61 ERA in five starts this season including 5 2/3 scoreless his last time out.

High-A

The Brooklyn Cyclones already played on Wednesday, and it was more of the same for what has been a rough season. Brooklyn lost 8-4 to the Hot Rods and fell to 7-20 on the season. Vincent Perozo hit his first homer of the season

Low-A

St. Lucie (13-15) vs Lakeland (14-14)

6:30 PM

Hard-throwing right-hander Joel Lara gets the start for the St. Lucie Mets. He has hit 99 mph multiple times this year and has featured above-average spin on his four-seamer. However, Lara has a 11.66 ERA in large part due to nine walks and eight HBPs in only 12 1/3 innings.

The St. Lucie Mets offense has been one of the best in the league with a mix of youngsters Elian Peña (.886 OPS, 10 SB) and Randy Guzman (.989 OPS, 19 RBI), and JT Benson (1.010 OPS) who played Indy Ball last year.
