Las Vegas 51’s finally got their first win of the season 7-2 behind home runs by Brandon Allen, Darrell Ceciliani, and Alex Castellanos. Danny Muno led off and went 2-5 with a walk and Eric Campbell was 1-3 with 2 walks, 2B, and a run scored. Soup has started the season off hot going 5-10 with 3 walks showing Mets brass just maybe they could use another bench player. Darin Gorski started for the 51’s and got the win despite walking 5 hitters in only 5 innings but didn’t allow an earned run while striking out 5. Zack Thornton threw 2 perfect innings in relief and Scott Rice made his season debut throwing a scoreless inning. Gameday

Binghamton beat the RubberDucks 2-0 with their 2nd consecutive shutout this one anchored by a spectacular outing by Gabriel Ynoa. Ynoa who showed improved tilt and control of his slider needed only 83 pitches throw 7 scoreless innings with 3 k’s only allowing 5 hits and no walks. Ynoa had all three pitches working and even threw a couple of curveballs for strikes. He kept his fastball down resulting in 9 groundouts compared to only 4 fly outs. The B-Mets struggle at the plate again getting only 5 hits with Gavin Cecchini going 2-2 with 2 walks, R, SB and a RBI. The St. Lucie Mets were down 2-1 to Bradenton in the top of the 8th with 2 outs and Champ Stuart on 3rd base when Top Prospect Michael Conforto blasted one into the right center field seats to put the Mets up 3-2. Relievers Kyle Regnault and Robert Coles each threw a scoreless inning to secure a 3-2 win to make the Mets 3-0 on the season. The game ended in dramatic fashion as Coles was pitching with the tying run on 3rd when Bradenton’s Chris Diaz hit a sharp line drive to Amed Rosario at SS who threw to Dom Smith at first to end double off the runner and end the game. MMO’s 9th ranked prospect Marcos Molina made his full season debut and was holding the Marauders scoreless with 2 outs in the 6th when he gave up a 2-run 2B. Molina bounced back and struck out the next hitter to cap his 6 inning outing with 6 strikeouts giving up only 5 hits and 1 walk. Stuart continues to impress going 1-2 with 2 walks, run scored, RBI, and his 3rd stolen base of the season. Dom Smith and Amed Rosario both went 0-4 while Jhoan Urena was 1-4 with his first stolen base of the year. Box score

Savannah won its first game of the year with a 11-4 score over West Virginia Power with Casey Meisner on the mound who went five innings to pick up the win. Meisner did struggle however giving up four runs (two earned), six hits, three walks while striking out four in his full season debut. Stefan Sabol was the offensive star going 3-5 with a homer and four RBI’s. John Mora lead off and played CF going 3-5 with a walk and a run scored. Luis Guillorme aka the walk machine this year went 2-4 with two walks, two RBI, and a run scored. Wuilmer Becerra MMO’s 18th ranked prospect was 2-5 with a 2B, RBI, BB, two runs scored and his first stolen base of the year.
