Las Vegas (19-8) 6, Albuquerque 4

The 51’s were looking for their franchise record 13th straight win heading into the Top of the 9th tied at 3-3 when Matt Reynolds led off with a single to get the three-run inning started. Las Vegas now with the 6-3 lead handed the ball over to Chasen Bradford to gave up an unearned run because of a Reynolds error was able to get Tim Smalling (the tying run) to pop out in foul territory to end the game. It was Bradford’s 4th save off the season and has yet to give up a earned run in his 14 innings pitched so far this season. Tyler Pill got the start failing to pick up his first win of the season after going 5 innings allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three. The outing actually dropped Pill’s ERA to 8.14 but the league is stilling hitting .310 against him. Cody Satterwhite, Zack Thornton, and John Church all threw a scoreless inning of relief with Church doing so in the 8th to pick up his first win of the year. Reynolds also hit his league leading 12th double, walked, scored a run, and has now reached base safely in 25 out of the 27 games he has played this year. Travis Taijeron had a great night reaching base 5 times (3 H, 2 BB’s), scoring a run, knocking in one bringing his line up to .362/.464/.623 on the year. Darrell Ceciliani was 2-5 and yesterdays offensive star Wilfredo Tovar was 1-4 with two RBI’s. Las Vegas had 20 base runners on the evening going 2-18 with runners in scoring position leaving 12 runners on. Portland 6, Binghamton (15-11) 3

Binghamton was only able to produce 5 hits on the day with Brandon Nimmo boasting two of them while knocking in his 8th run of the season. Nimmo played RF for the 7th time the season and threw out Blake Tekotte in the 2nd inning trying to score from second on a single. Gavin Cecchini had his 11-game hit streak snapped with his 0-3 night but did manage to work a walk. Xorge Carrillo went 1-3 with 2B, RBI, BB, 2 R’s and his now hitting .351 over his last 10 games. Rainy Lara got the start and suffered his first loss of the season allowing four runs on 11 base runners and striking out five in 5 innings. Box ScoreGabriel Ynoa (2-1, 3.97) pitches tonight for the B’Mets at 6:35 in the final game against the Sea Dogs.

Palm Beach 3, St. Lucie (13-14) 0

Marcos Molina got the start for St. Lucie looking that resulted in his 3rd loss of the season going 5 innings giving up two runs on four hits and walk while striking out four. Molina has a 3.33 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 28 strike outs in 27 innings so far this year in his first 5 starts. Kyle Regnault came in and pitched two innings of relief giving up one run and collecting three strike outs. It was only the 2nd run Kyle has given up all year in 14.2 innings of work resulting in a 1.23 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and has struck out 14. Michael Conforto was 3-4 with his 4th double and is now hitting .412 in day games this year. Jhoan Urena went 1-3 to extend his hit streak to 5 games and his average over the last 10 to .270. Dom Smith was 0-4, he is now 0-18 since returning from his leg injury and is hitting .153/.206/.169. Savannah (9-16) 8, Greenville 3

The Sand Gnats scored four times in the last two innings including a two-run HR by Tomas Nido (2) in the top of the 9th. John Mora his his 2nd HR of the season as well with a two-run shot in the 3rd inning for his only hit of the night. The Mets 4th round pick from last season Eudor Garcia made his season debut at 3B going 3-5 with a double and a run scored. Luis Guillorme was back in the lead off spot going 2-5 with a RBI and run scored, now hitting .321/.424/.333 on the year. Every player in the Savannah lineup collected a hit last night. Corey Oswalt moved to 3-0 with 6 strong innings giving up three runs on six hits striking out seven guys. Alberto Baldonado pitched three scoreless innings with three strike outs in relief to pick up his first save of the season. In unfortunate injury news Binghamton’s Domingo Tapia underwent Tommy John surgery on Tuesday after a rough start to the season which saw him give up 9 runs in 1.2 innings.
