Las Vegas (45-32) 4, Sacramento 3 F/10 Walk-Off

After scoring 33 runs in their last three games the 51’s were being held scoreless until the bottom of the the 9th when Wilfredo Tovar led off the inning with a single and moved to 3rd on a pick-off attempt error. Brooks Conrad came up after Kirk Nieuwenhuis struck out and had the first of two big at bats of the day when he tied the game with a sacrifice fly. John Church, Scott Rice, and Chase Bradford combined to give up two runs in the top of the 10th inning. With two outs in the bottom of the 10th Anthony Recker came into pinch hit as the tying run and blasted a game tying homerun for his 3rd in two games. Here is the video of the homerun. Kirk then walked to bring up Conrad again in a spot to win the game and that he did with a walk-off double.

Rainy Lara made his 3rd start in AAA with his best so far going 6 innings giving up a run on seven hits and three walks while striking out four. He threw 85 pitches with 56 of them being for strikes giving up a homerun in the 3rd inning for the only run he allowed. Cody Satterwhite followed with two scoreless innings giving up two base runners while striking out one. Cody has lowered his ERA from 6.29 to 4.81 over his last 15.1 innings that spans 10 appearances. Rice faced three hitters letting them all reach via a hit and two walks. Bradford stranded two of three runners getting the last two outs in the to pick up his 3rd win.

Over the last three games Recker is 8-10 with three homeruns and nine RBI and has five homeruns in nine games in Las Vegas. Danny Muno was 2-5 and is hitting 18-41 (.439) in his past 10 games. Brandon Allen was 2-4, he is hitting .375 over his last ten games. Matt Reynolds sat out the third straight game and made a tweet at 2:58 (7 minutes before game time) that said ” You find out who you real friends are”. He deleted the tweet almost immediately. Binghamton (38-36) 3, Akron 1

When Aderlin Rodriguez singled with one out in the top of the 5th inning it was the first hit Binghamton had since yesterday with one out in the top of the 4th inning, they had gone 0-for the last 30 at bats. In the same inning Gavin Cecchini came up with the bases loaded and came through with a double down the left field line that cleared the bases and ended up as the game winner.

Rodriguez finished with two of the B’Mets five hits. Michael Conforto was 1-4 on the day, he is just 3-22 over his last 6 games. Brock Peterson with 1-3 with a walk and is hitting .361 with three homeruns and nine RBI over his last 10 games.

Luis Cessa was very good for the 5th time in 6 games throwing 7 scoreless innings allowing six hits and a walk with six strikeouts. Cessa needed only 82 pitches (58 strikes) to get through his outing and the Akron announcer said he talked to a scout that said Luis was one of the best pitchers in the Eastern League. Cessa is now 7-4 with a 2.56 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP with the league hitting .261 against him. Matt Koch pitched a perfect 8th inning with a strikeout, he has a 2.38 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP since being moved to the bullpen. Paul Sewald pikced up his 14th save but did give up a homerun to lose the shutout, his ERA is still only 1.67 while holding a 0.87 WHIP. Box Score

Tampa 6, St. Lucie (37-37) 0

Daniel Murphy played in his 4th rehab game with St. Lucie and was 1-3 while playing 5 innings at third base with a fielding error. Murphy is 7-15 with two doubles, four RBI, two walks, and zero strikeouts and should be activated on Tuesday.

The Mets had only four hits with Dominic Smith collecting two of them, he is 16-42 (.381) with ten RBI in his last 10 games. Smith leads the league with doubles (24), 2nd in RBI (46), 5th in average (.305), 8th in slugging (.427), and 7th in OPS (.774). Jeff McNeil was 1-4 and still leads the FSL league in hitting at .337.

St. Lucie starter Kevin McGowan went 6.2 innings while giving up three runs on four hits and four walks, two of the runs were given up by Mike Hepple who was unable to strand the runners. Hepple also gave up three runs in his inning and left with two runners on. David Roseboom made his 2nd St. Lucie appearance stranding the two base runners. Box Score

St. Lucie plays tonight at 7 PM without an announced starter.

Savannah vs. Lexington was suspended in the top of the 5th in a 5 all tie. They will complete it today as a doubleheader.

Reigning pitcher of the week Scarlyn Reyes (7-4, 3.05) will get the start in the regularly scheduled game.

Brooklyn (6-3) 6, Auburn 5 Rain shortened after the top of the 6th.

Michael Katz powered the Cyclones offense going 2-3 with three RBI including a two-run homerun for the 2nd straight game. Jeffrey Diehl was 2-3 with a RBI while collecting an outfield assist, he is now hitting 9-21 with five extra base hits with five RBI over six games to start the season. Vincent Siena was 1-3 with his 3rd double while knocking in his 4th run of the year.

Michael Gibbons struggled in his 2nd Brooklyn start going 5 innings giving up five runs on nine hits with four strikeouts but still picked up his 2nd win. Box Score

Bluesfield 8, Kingsport (3-3) 7 F/10

Kingsport starting pitcher Harol Gonzalez had a perfect game going to the top of the 9th before giving up a single to start the inning which started the a 7-run rally. The Mets would score three runs in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game before losing it when the bullpen gave up a run in the top of the 10th. The Mets lost on Friday when Kingsport manager left some of the relievers off the lineup card and was forced to use position players on the mound.

Gonzalez end up going 8.1 innings giving up two runs on the one hit and a walk while striking out nine hitters. Dash Winningham, Luis Carpio, and Kevin Kaczmarski each had two hits on the night with four RBI combined. Box Score
