Steven Matz got his 2nd AAA start and it did not go as well as the first as he walked five hitters and gave up five hits which lead to three runs for Sacramento. Matz got his first AAA loss in the 3-2 game and struggled to locate his fastball but didn’t get any help from the homeplate ump who had a small inconsistent strike zone. Matz did strike out five batters and had good movement on his curveball. Jack Leathersich pitched one inning and struck out all three batters he faced and has yet to allow a walk. Hansel Robles pitched two scoreless innings of relief to remain unscored upon in AAA.The 51’s bats were quiet on the night as Darrell Ceciliani was the lone bright spot hitting his 2nd homerun of the season. Eric Campbell was 1-1 before being taken out of the game to jump on a flight for New York to replace the Captain when he is put on the DL. Danny Muno was 1-4 while playing 3rd base while Matt Reynolds played 2B and was 0-3 with a walk and Dilson Herrera got a pinch hit opportunity and struck out. The most sensible way to replace the Captain(assuming its more than just 15 days) is to move Murphy over to 3rd(his best defensive spot) and bring up either Herrera or Reynolds to play 2B. Box Score
