dilson herrera homers

Las Vegas 15 (13-11), El Paso 6

There were 34 hits between the two clubs as Vegas decimated El Paso under hitting performances from pretty much everyone. Dilson Herrera returned from his sore back to homer twice and become a double shy of the cycle. He drove in five and stole a base. T.J. Rivera and Travis Taijeron both homered, while Nimmo and Cecchini hit doubles, and both had multiple hit games. Cecchini has been burning hot and has a triple slash of .299/.393/.390 now after starting very cold.

Sean Gilmartin had the worst start of the year, giving up four runs, and nearly doubling his ERA. Zack Thornton, Josh Smoker, and Erik Goeddel all went two-thirds of an inning in succession, with Thornton giving up a run.

Binghamton 13 (12-10), Portland 2

Binghamton won a laugher as they destroyed Mets former 2012 2nd Round pick Teddy Stankiewicz and collected 18 hits. Niuman Romero was a triple shy of the cycle, and drove in five runs. Dominic Smith hit his third homer of the year to left-center field, and drove in a runner in two different instances of runners in scoring position in his 3 for 6 day. Four players in the starting lineup had three hits apiece while three others had two hits.

Andrew Barbosa gave up two runs in five innings, while the bullpen shut down Portland for the remaining four innings.

Bradenton 5, St. Lucie 1 (14-11)

St. Lucie couldn’t string together some hits, and Chris Flexen fell apart in the fourth inning, and gave up eight hits and four runs in his five innings of work while striking out five. Wuilmer Becerra continued his hot hitting, driving in Amed Rosario in his 2 for 4 day, and is hitting .400/.440/.471 on the year so far and has finally played again in Right Field. Kevin Taylor and Champ Stuart both collected two hits, while Rosario and Jonathan Johnson were both 1 for 4.
