Tacoma 8, Las Vegas (45-34) 4

Dillon Gee made his 2nd start in Las Vegas lasting only 4.1 innings giving up eight runs on 13 hits and two walks while striking out only two. John Church and Scott Rice combined to throw 3.2 scoreless out of the bullpen to keep the 51’s offense in the game but they could not take advantage going 2-12 with runners in scoring position.

Matt Reynolds returned to the lineup going 1-4 with a double, walk, and a run scored after not being in the lineup for four straight games. Alex Castellanos was 2-5 with his league leading 26th double and two RBI giving him 46 on the year good for 9th in the PCL. T.J. Rivera was 1-4 with a double, he is now hitting .393/.422/.607 over his last 17 games for Las Vegas. Box Score

Binghamton (39-37) 10, Erie 5

The B’Mets broke out of their offensive funk thanks in part to Michael Conforto who was 3-5 with his 3rd AA homerun (10th overall) with two runs scored and two RBI. He had been 6-35 with 10 strikeouts over his last nine games with only two extra base hits. L.J. Mazzilli was 2-5 with a 2-run triple and scored a run. Eudy Pina was 4-5 with three RBI and a run scored, he is hitting .359 with ten RBI over his last 10 games. Gavin Cecchini was 1-6 while scoring a run and lowering his average to .277 on the year.

Robert Gsellman picked up his 2nd win for Binghamton going 6 innings giving up three runs on six hits and four walks while striking out four. He is now 2-4 with a 4.37 ERA and is the Eastern League is hitting .280 against him in 35 innings. Akeel Morris pitched a scoreless 9th working around a walk and hit collecting two strikeouts in his 4th appearance for the B’Mets. Box Score

Tampa 3, St. Lucie (38-38) 2

Robert Whalen was cruising through 5 scoreless innings extending the Mets streak to 17 innings before Tampa scored two runs in the bottom of the 6th to tie the game. Kelly Secrest pitched a shutdown 7th inning but gave up the lead in the 8th after allowing a leadoff double to Mike Ford who came around to score the winning run on a wild pitch.

Whalen went 6 innings giving up two runs on four hits and four walk with five strikeouts, walking 4 for the 3rd straight game. Whalen lowered his ERA to 3.18 and has given up just 67 hits in 79.1 innings with only 3 homeruns allowed.

The Mets offense was shutdown by Rookie Davis until the 6th inning when they scored on a RBI single By Yeixon Ruiz and a sac fly by Jairo Perez. Jeff McNeil and Dominic Smith each went 0-3 with the latter being walked intentionally in the 6th. Cuban catcher Lednier Ricardo had his first hit (single) and run scored for St. Lucie in his 2nd start for them after playing his first three pro games for GCL Mets. Box Score

Augusta 6, Savannah (40-35) 0

The Sand Gnats offense could only muster four hits on the night with Wuilmer Becerra and Eudor Garcia collecting two each for all of the Savannah offense.

Ricky Knapp started for Savannah going 4 innings allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out three. He took his first loss of the year and saw his ERA raise to 2.11 on the year. Edioglis Villasmil pitch good in relief going 4 innings giving up just a solo homerun and striking out five hitters. Cameron Griffin worked around a walk in the 9th to throw a scoreless inning with three strikeouts. Box Score

Auburn 3, Brooklyn (7-4) 2

Brooklyn got out to an early lead thanks in part to two 2015 draft picks when 4th round David Thompson doubled to score 14th rounder Vincent Siena who singled to reach base. Thompson was 2-4 with RBI double, he now has a hit and RBI in each of his first four pro starts. Siena was 3-4 with a run scored, he now has 16 hits in 11 professional games. Brandon Brosher was 0-2 with a sac fly in his 2nd game for the Cyclones.

Kevin Canelon started for Brooklyn going 5 innings giving up two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out two. P.J. Conlon (13th RD) made his 2nd pro appearance pitching a scoreless inning. Box Score

Kingsport 1 (5-3), Danville 0

Mets 9th round pick Kevin Kaczmarski was key to the Mets offense going 2-4 with his professional homerun in the 6th inning to break the scoreless tie. He now has a 6-game hit streak and has reached base safely in all seven pro games. Raphael Ramirez was 2-4 extending his hit streak to 7 games to start the year, he is hitting .355/.382/.613 on the year. Arnaldo Berrios, Dash Winningham, and Patrick Mazeika each had one hit last night.

Audry German threw 7 scoreless innings on five hits and a walk while striking out five hitters picking up his 2nd win of the year. Joe Shaw (12th RD) pitched the last two innings picking up his first pro save while striking out two hitters. Box Score

GCL Mets (3-4) 7, GCL Cardinals 6

Catching prospect was Ali Sanchez was 3-5 for the 2nd straight game, he knocked in a run and scored two last night. Victor Moscote walked with the bases loaded to score Jose Miguel Medina to win the game in the bottom of the 9th.

Rehabbing Jeff Walters made his 4th appearance going one inning allowing two runs on three hits and a walk. Mets 2013 2nd round pick Andrew Church made his season debut going one inning allowing a run on three hits and a walk. Sixto Torres (17th RD) made his 2nd appearance pitching a scoreless 8th to pick up his first pro hold. Gabriel Llanes gave up two runs in the 9th inning but managed to pick up his first win of the year. Box Score
