The New York Mets have won 10 of their last 13 games, including four straight, and are headed to LA to play the Dodgers this weekend. However, Thursday is an off day for the major league club, which gives us another opportunity to highlight the Mets’ minor league action. There are five games on tap for today, with Game 2 of the Double-A Binghamton doubleheader being shown on SNY at about 730-8 p.m. ET.

Mark Vientos has been hot for the Syracuse Mets, starting the year with a .978 OPS. His 15 RBIs are tied for sixth in the International League. Veteran outfielder Ben Gamel leads the team with four home runs and Trayce Thompson has three in his last four games. Rylan Bannon is third on the team with a .928 OPS and Tomás Nido is fourth at .922.

Double-A
Reading Fightin Phils (3-7) vs Binghamton Rumble Ponies (4-5)
Game 1 5:15 PM, Game 2 7:30-8 on SNY

Alex Ramírez has been a pleasant surprise so far in 2024 for Binghamton; the outfielder has a 9.37 OPS and five stolen bases to start the season. Catcher Kevin Parada (.904 OPS) and first baseman JT Schwartz (.973 OPS) have also played well. Mets top prospect Jett Williams has struggled a bit to start the season with a .200/.333/.333 line through eight games.

Right-hander Tyler Stuart will start Game 1 of the doubleheader and fellow right-hander Troy Miller looks like he will start Game 2.

High-A
Brooklyn Cyclones (4-7) vs Jersey Shore BlueClaws (7-4)
Gameday 6:35 PM

The Cyclones are hitting only .178/.284/.286 as a team, with 108 strikeouts in 332 at-bats. Infielder Nick Lorusso is the lone player with at least 25 plate appearances and an OPS of .800 (.813). He’s tied with Nolan McLean for the team lead in home runs with two.

Right-hander Noah Hall will get the ball for Brooklyn. The 2023 seventh-round pick has given up 10 earned runs over 4 1/3 innings to start the season.

Injury News: Right-handed pitcher Calvin Ziegler is getting TJS and will miss the rest of the 2024 season.

Low-A
Tampa Tarpons (3-8) vs St. Lucie Mets (4-7)
Gameday 6:10 PM

Outfielder Nick Morabito (1.000 OPS), infielder Jesus Baez (7 extra-base hits) and first baseman/catcher Ronald Hernandez (11 walks in 9 games) are leading the St. Lucie Mets offense. Infield prospect Marco Vargas has played only two games this season and hasn’t played since April 11.

Right-hander Wyatt Hudepohl gets the start for St. Lucie. The 2023 fourth-rounder has nine strikeouts and a 3.86 ERA in 4 2/3 innings this season.
