Ahead of their series opening game against the San Francisco Giants on Monday evening, the Mets made multiple roster moves, according to Tim Britton of The Athletic.

The Mets recalled two players who’ve already played for the team this season, placed another on the IL, and optioned a pitcher to Triple-AAA.

Tomas Nido, the Mets backup catcher who has a .618 OPS in 51 games this season, is headed to the 10-day injured list with a left thumb sprain.

Taking his place on the active roster is Patrick Mazeika, who put together a 104 OPS+ in 16 games earlier this season in the big leagues. He become a legend amongst the fanbase with late-game heroics off the bench against the Diamondbacks and Orioles. In both of those games, Mazeika entered the ballgame late as a pinch hitter, and recorded a walk-off RBI by way of a fielder’s choice.

Trevor Williams, who was demoted from the big leagues after being added as the doubleheader’s 27th man last week against the Nationals, is back with the Mets. In his start last week, he pitched an impressive 4 1/3 innings, allowing just three hits and one run. Between 14 games this season with the Cubs and Mets, Williams has posted a 4.86 ERA.

Geoff Hartlieb has pitched just 4.1 innings for the Mets this year, totaling three appearances. In that short stint, he’s allowed seven earned runs and has struck out five batters. He has been optioned to Syracuse.
