L.J. Mazzilli and his dad Lee before the Cyclones game on Wednesday

2013 draftees, second baseman L.J. Mazzilli and first baseman Matthew Oberste have already hit the ground running for the Low-A Brooklyn Cyclones. Both are batting .375 (3-for-8) as the Clones begin their short season this week. Meanwhile, first-round pick Dominic Smith singled in his first pro at-bat in Port St. Lucie on Wednesday.

The Mets continues to sign their draft selections and so far have confirmed that their top 14 picks have agreed to deals. The highest unsigned pick is RHP J.D. Leckenby, who has opted to complete his senior year with the Washington State Cougars. No pun intended. 🙂
