On Tuesday at NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse, home to the Mets new Triple-A affiliate, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo was joined by Mets’ COO Jeff Wilpon to announce details about changes to the team.

The Syracuse franchise had been named the Chiefs in all but three seasons since 1934, but will now be called the Syracuse Mets. Additionally, Onondaga County is working on a deal to keep the Mets in Syracuse for 25-years which will include a $26.25 investment to upgrade NBT Bank Stadium.
