Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports that the Mets expect Asdrubal Cabrera to avoid spending any time on the disabled list despite his tight hamstring.

Cabrera was removed from Sunday night’s game after three innings with a “tight left hamstring.” After grounding out in the bottom of the third inning, he grabbed at his left hamstring but then jogged down to first base, obviously in pain.

“He felt like he could’ve kept on going,” Callaway said. “But he didn’t want it to get worse.”

Cabrera, 32, has been dealing with a myriad of injuries over the past two seasons, most recently a “tweaked” knee on May 26th. It has made an impact, as after being the Mets’ best hitter for two months, Cabrera has cooled off considerably. He’s been playing through his knee injury and it shows as he’s 4-for-his-last-37 with one two-run home run and two walks.

His leg injuries have also limited his defense at second base, which has been terrible this season. In 501 innings he has -10 DRS and -2.8 UZR. He is sure-handed, as he makes the plays on the balls he gets to. His range, though, is very limited.

He did not travel with the team to Atlanta last night as he stayed in New York to get re-evaluated. The Mets will make a decision from there, per DiComo.

Cabby has hit .283/.323/.498 with 11 home runs and 36 RBIs this season.
