The Mets vs Cubs game on Friday at Wrigley Field has been officially postponed. The two teams will now play a split admission doubleheader on Saturday at Wrigley. The first game will start at 2:20 p.m. ET and the second will start at 8:05 p.m. ET.

Good friends Taijuan Walker and Marcus Stroman were scheduled to match up on Friday night in the second game of the series. The originally scheduled matchup for the Saturday game was Max Scherzer for the Mets and left-hander Drew Smyly for the Cubs.

The Mets took the first game of the series on Thursday night by an 8-0 score over the Cubs. Brandon Nimmo and Pete Alonso both homered to fuel the offense. Mets’ starter Carlos Carrasco tossed six scoreless innings and right-hander Trevor Williams recorded the Mets first nine-out save since Erasmo Ramirez in 2020.
