As I was reading Adam Rubin’s blog for ESPN New York, I came across a few pictures that Adam posted from Mets Spring Training at Port St. Lucie.

Like all teams, the Mets go into Spring Training with many questions to answer as players battle to win spots on the 25-man roster.

Two positions where the Mets are definitely set, are at the corner infield spots where Ike Davis and David Wright bring a potent bat and a steady glove.

Both Wright and Davis showed up to camp a week earlier than their reporting date, and both look to be in great shape and raring to go this season.

I expect Ike Davis to break the 20 HR barrier in 2011, and to notch 80+ RBI in his sophomore campaign.

David Wright had a solid season in 2010, and this season I would look for 30+ HR, 110+ RBI and a .390 OBP.

Plenty of other position players are in camp today in addition to all the pitchers and catchers. Daniel Murphy and Nick Evans were among the first to arrive and were soon joined by Josh Thole and Brad Emaus. I know a lot of people are down on the offseason, but not me. This is when I really start tuning into my team again and getting in touch with everything I love about being a Mets fan. I’m really looking forward to the 2011 season!
