After Robinson Cano left Sunday’s game due to injury, the Mets will call up infielder Luis Guillorme from Triple-A. Ernest Dove of Metsminors.net reported the news Monday morning.

It was expected that Guillorme would get the call up after he was removed from yesterday’s game in Syracuse.

Known mostly for his glove, Guillorme was hitting .307/.412/.452 in 278 plate appearances in Triple-A. He struck out just 42 times while drawing 39 walks.

Over 97 MLB plate appearances, he is slashing .202/.268/.225.

Cano exited Sunday’s game with a strained left hamstring and will have a MRI on Monday. The 36-year-old second baseman was batting .252/.295/.415 with ten homeruns and 32 RBI in his first season with the Mets. Cano went 9-for-15 in his last four games before the injury.
