In their first wave of September call-ups, the New York Mets have recalled first baseman/outfielder Dominic Smith, right-hander Drew Gagnon, and utility player Jack Reinheimer.

Smith, 23, slashed .258/.328/.380 with 28 extra-base hits, 21 doubles, and 41 RBI in 84 games with Triple-A Las Vegas this year but hit just .195/.225/.377 in 80 plate appearances with the Mets.

Gagnon, 28, signed with the Mets this past offseason and had a 4.57 earned-run average, a 1.23 WHIP, 9.5 strikeouts and 2.5 walks per nine innings, respectively, in 27 starts (157.2 innings) for the 51’s.

The righty made one start for the Mets in 2018, allowing six earned runs in 4.2 innings in a 7-3 loss to Philadephia on July 10.

Reinheimer, 26, is a shortstop by trade but has played all over the diamond, most recently in the outfield during his initial call-up this season.

In 14 at-bats with the Mets, the Charlotte native has a .286/.333/.619 slash line with three runs scored. He slashed .327/.383/.491 in 55 at-bats with Triple-A Las Vegas after coming over from the Diamondbacks organization earlier in the year.
