The Mets finally bolstered their bullpen Wednesday, signing right-hander Anthony Swarzak to a two-year, $14 million deal, according to Marc Carig of Newsday on Twitter.

This deal comes on the heels of watching two of their top relief targets, Bryan Shaw and Tommy Hunter, sign deals elsewhere.

Swarzak, 32, split the 2017 season between the Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers, pitching to a 2.33 ERA, 2.74 FIP, 1.034 WHIP and 187 ERA+ in 77.1 innings.

The eight-year veteran began his career with the Minnesota Twins before stints with the Cleveland Indians and New York Yankees prior to this season.

If you want to get to know more about the Mets most recent acquisition, Beyond the Box Score did a nice piece breaking down his dominance from this past year. That can be found here.

He will assist incumbent relievers Jerry Blevins, AJ Ramos and Jeurys Familia anchor the bullpen and might even see some closing opportunities, as new Mets skipper Mickey Callaway will begin the season in closing by committee.

The deal will be official upon Swarzak passing his physical.
