The New York Mets announced six minor league signings on Monday afternoon, including the already reported news that they were bringing back Jerry Blevins and giving former Phillies pitcher Jerad Eickhoff a shot.

Two of the other signings were former Mets infielder Wilfredo Tovar and left-handed pitcher Tom Windle.

Tovar, 29, was originally signed by the Mets as an international free agent in 2007 and made his big league debut with the team in 2013. His last major league experience came in 2019 with the Angels, he had a .492 OPS in 31 games. He’s a strong defensive shortstop, with three defensive runs saved in 257 big league innings at the position.

Windle, 28, posted a 4.10 ERA and 9.1 K/9 while pitching for the Phillies Triple-A affiliated IronPigs in 2019. He was drafted in the second round of the 2013 draft by the Dodgers. He went to the Phillies organization when the Dodgers acquired Jimmy Rollins.

Blevins, Eickhoff, Tovar, and Windle all received an invitation to big league camp.

The Mets also announced the signings of left-handed Camrin Opp (previously reported by our own Rob Piersall) and catcher Jose Colina. Neither received an invitation to big league camp.
