I feel like I’ve wrote one of these stories a week.

Thursday’s Mets game versus the Pirates at Citi Field was postponed due to rain in the forecast all night in New York. They’ll make the game up Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 4:10 p.m.

Manager Luis Rojas said in a press conference Thursday afternoon the team was looking for a window to play tonight, but it “wasn’t looking good.” The team decided to call the game before it started, unlike Tuesday, when the game versus the Brewers was postponed over two-and-a-half hours after first pitch was scheduled.

It’s the Mets’ 14th postponement this year and the 11th related to weather. The MLB season has been on for 13 weeks, and the Mets have had two weeks’ worth of games postponed. The doubleheader on Saturday will be their 10th of the year–double the number of any other team.

When the Mets and Pirates series gets underway Friday at Citi, it’ll start a seven-game stretch against Pittsburgh with the All-Star break between the two series.

The Mets haven’t announced their starter outlook for the weekend, but Taijuan Walker will likely start Friday, as he was lined up for Thursday night’s game. Marcus Stroman and Tylor Megill may get Saturday’s two games, then there were whispers of Jacob deGrom potentially getting a couple innings Sunday on short rest.

Brandon Nimmo was going to sit out Thursday’s game due to sore shoulder, so we’ll see if he can start Friday after he responded well to treatment.
